Donner Summit Tunnels (From SF Gate – 2021)
The SFGate web site recently featured an interesting article on the railroad tunnels at Donner Pass. Tracks were removed from the 1867-era series of tunnels in the 1990’s. This is still railroad property, but many people have enjoyed walking through the historic sheds and tunnels. Follow this link to the SFGate article
The Chinese and Railroad Construction (2020)
Two new projects documenting the important role Chinese workers played in constructing the nation’s first transcontinental railroad are now available on line. The first, by National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA), can be viewed at

The UP Steam team has been busy renovating the Steam Shop in Cheyenne to accommodate all of the equipment necessary to restore Big Boy No. 4014 back to operating condition.
