Through monthly meetings and field trips, the Placer Sierra Historical Society conveys information on both historic and contemporary railroading activities on “The Hill”.
Contacts with local historians and interviews with active and retired railroad employees yield a wealth of stories of the glory days of railroading. PSRHS members are gathering these stories and documenting them, along with researching information which may already exist in a myriad of public records.
Our goal is to preserve the local history through collection, restoration, display and interpretation of artifacts and documentation of the railroad, communities and surrounding areas between Roseville, CA and Reno, NV. A history which began with original exploration for a route to connect the United States by rail.
The Placer Sierra Railroad Heritage Society (PSRHS) is a 100% volunteer organization. We ask for your patience in a responce to your inquiry.
